Karnataka Stringers Job Notification 2025 in Prasar Bharati

The Regional News Unit of Prasar Bharati’s Bangalore Doordarshan Kendra has issued a notification for the recruitment of Stringers in 29 districts of Karnataka state. The salary range for those selected for these posts is up to Rs.5,00,000 per annum. Interested candidates can apply by knowing the necessary details below.

As per the current revised rules, Doordarshan is planning to recruit 5 stringers in Bangalore city and 2 stringers in each district. Accordingly, more than 60 stringers will be newly recruited in the state. Interested candidates can apply.

Qualifications and work experience

Must have completed graduation and post-graduation. Those who have passed UG, PG in journalism will be given first preference.
Must have camera skills and good news sensitivity. Therefore, one should have all the skills and qualifications to become a journalist. Preference will be given to those with service experience in broadcast journalism and news gathering.

Karnataka Stringers Job Notification 2025

There will be a total of five stages of tests in the recruitment selection process including

1) Shortlisting of applications,

2) News coverage test for shortlisted candidates,

3) Interview,

4) Verification of documents, camera, other equipment,

5) Preparation of final list.

Salary Details

As per the revised salary rules, the local news coverage assigned will be paid at Rs.1500, 2nd coverage at Rs.1000, and outer zone coverage at Rs.1800.

The payment limit as per the revised salary is as follows annually.

• Annual salary for stringers in Bangalore district up to Rs.5,00,000.
• Annual salary for stringers in other districts Rs.4,00,000.

• Must have the necessary equipment to take DSNG / News Live.
• Professionals should have the latest HD, 4K, UHD, NX type video cameras.
• Apart from the above equipment, they should have quality 4G, 5G smartphones.
• Must have all the facilities to send video footage to the newsroom quickly as per the requirement.
• Those who are already in the stringer profession should also apply anew and participate in the recruitment process.
